About Us
Envisioned by founder Sheila L. Brown in 2014 and established in 2018, the first Black Radio History Collective in the country is dedicated to the stories of community and sounds of Rhythm and Blues, Soul, and Gospel music that emerged as a connection to the Black Community during the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The mix of community voices that hosted talk shows and the melodies of soothing music were a vital part of the Black Experience in America.
Our Mission
WUFO Black Radio History Collective is dedicated to preserving the African American radio culture of Western New York. The Collective strives to inspire cultural, intellectual, and community involvement through special events and exhibitions featuring icons and musical legends.
